Program Notes

This little trio was written for my sister (a violinist) and her two roommates (a clarinetist and trombonist, as you might have guessed from the instrumentation) at New England Conservatory. It is definitely lighthearted in nature – hence the title – and unlike most divertimenti, it is in one movement. I do have a recording of it, but it was rather low-quality, and thus I have not published it here.

In February 2026, I rearranged this piece for violin, clarinet and double bass at the request of German composer Bernd Schumann, and the new arrangement will be premiered in September 2026 at a new music festival in Germany.
